My new M35A2, Thanks Bruce

I initially joined this list to learn more about CUCV's. At the time, I
didn't realize that people could own 2.5, 5, and 10-ton trucks. This new
knowledge was dangerous for me and I somehow contracted OD fever. It got the
better of me. I forgot about the CUCV's and started looking for a M35A2 to
take to shows/parades/etc...
I looked at many DRMO trucks, and decided that I didn't want to gamble
that much. It would have been fun to restore one, but I already have too
many projects. I checked some dealers, but none of them seemed to have what
I was looking for. I really wanted a show quality truck that needed nothing.
I wanted all of the goodies from the start: 3-color camo, turbo, winch, air
shift, heater, fiberglass troop seats, etc... Bows and a Cargo cover didn't
matter because I could add them later.
Well, I finally found a truck that met all of my wants. It is a 1971
General Products M35A2. I purchased it from fellow list member Bruce Kubu. I
cannot say enough about the truck or about Bruce's honesty with me. I could
not be happier with the quality of the truck. Everything Bruce told me about
it was totally accurate. After seeing his collection while test driving and
then again while picking up my truck, I know he doesn't do things half-way
or incorrectly.
His singled out M929 is truly awesome (and beautiful to boot!). His
singled out M35A2C W/W is beautiful, too. I also got to see his M813A1 W/W.
That thing is gorgeous (and it's FOR SALE! -- If I had the money, I'd buy it
in a second!!!). It has absolutely no rust, dents, or flaws of any kind.
It's also been freshly sandblasted and painted desert tan. Bruce is very
particular (in a good way) about how his trucks look. If they are not nice
enough, he has them sandblasted and painted with fresh CARC. They are also
mechanically perfect.
Anyway, not to ramble on, but I just wanted to thank Bruce for being so
honest and for caring about his trucks the way his does. He is a true credit
to the hobby. If anyone is looking for a *super clean* Cummins powered 5-ton
cargo, you owe it to yourself to check out Bruce's M813A1. Joe Young is a
close friend of Bruce and has it listed on his site
(http://hometown.aol.com/mytjoe73/page18.html). Bruce does not misrepresent
his trucks, but if you want a third party perspective, I have seen it in
person. Feel free to contact me.
    Sorry about the length.
