Re: [MV] how does multifuel work?

Multifuel works by running the fuel in the system through a
compensator on the injector pump, the compensator somehow determines
the viscosity of the fuel and adjusts it with crank case oil(no
kidding) since there are few fuels thicker than diesel, you wouldn't
have to worry about adjusting for a thicker fuel. One BIG BIG safety
problem with the compensator is that there have been several
occurances of fuel backwashing into the crank case via a defective
compensator this has the possibility of causing the fuel to detonate
in your case and ruining the lubricating effects of your engine oil.
Best advice is to plug the compensator and run the fuel line from the
final fuel filter directly to the head, sure it disables your
multifuel but since you probably will only use diesel anyway it
doesn't matter, also, avoids running your engine oil dry.

I have bypassed my compensator and have had no problems.
