Ford GTB parts found, plus a treasure of others.

I ran across that proverbial gold mine. An old parts
dealer in Arlington Texas that has 7 warehouses of NOS
parts for cars from 1909-1972. He has just about any
part you need for engines, trannys, fuel pumps, water
pumps, generators, etc for your MV.

I have been unable to find a source of distributor
rotor caps for my GTB project. I went in asking for
the distributor cap, rotor cap, points, and condenser.
He looked up everything in his book, determined that
Ford was using a Chrysler distributor on the GTB
engine and wandered off into his warehouse just like
the scene at the end of "Raiders of the Lost Ark". He
came back with NOS parts. The rotor caps were
military issue perfectly wrapped in cosmoline. Prices
are reasonable, $5 for rotor cap, $10 for dist cap,
$10 for points, he threw in a condensor for free. I
asked for an axle bumper pad, he had it, $12 for an
original with the bolts and washers. I asked for
engine gasket sets, he had them, original Ford
wrapping. He deals in Ford, GM, and Chrysler. I
highly recommend checking with this guy for just about
anything you might be having a hard time finding.
This guy is in a time warp. Its like stepping back to
the 30's and 40's when you walk in his place. I
almost offered him $20 just to walk through his
warehouses and look at his stuff!

You GTB guys that need a rotor cap, he has about 40
left. Call and ask for the following:

Dist cap - Filko A-15
Rotor cap - Filko AL-97 (ask for cosmoline version)
Points - Filko 66-91
Condensor - Filko AL-214

Anyone coming to the national convention in Dallas
should make plans to go see this guy. Its a real
treat. He will talk about your vehicle as long as you
want, and he will know more about the parts you need
than you do. He is the most parts knowledgeable guy I
have ever met, and he enjoys his business as much as
you enjoy your project.
