Having started in the Warbird scene, then dropped down to something
cheaper (Tanks!), I know where you are coming from. Until the shows
get to Beltring size, they are unlikely to pull enough money to fund
transport.
I am a bit surprised that Beltring doesn't minimise the price for
those contributing, but I suppose that is a Pandora's Box as then
the modellers would want a paint and glue contribution. The
re-enactors a uniform and dry cleaning allowance and so it would go
on.
However, when someone such as David, hauls a Churchill tank to the
event, I really do think he could be helped with the crippling (in
England) cost of transport and/or petrol it consumes. Otherwise, like
at Beltring 2000, it only gets to do a very abbreviated appearance
in the arena and sits still the rest of the time.

Regards
Doug
