Mr. Wright,

Thanks for showing interest in the concerns
that we as collectors and dealers of MV's share.
My original 12 point letter was a compilation
of comments from this list as well as my own
personal view.

Here are a couple of comments on titling and taxing
trucks and equipment that would apply to me here
in Texas, and perhaps to other states as well:

1. Texas has adapted a new "cost" when bringing
trucks from other states ($275). I believe this
is being called an inspection fee. (I am calling
my county tax office for a correct definition).
When my trucks came with a form 97 the tax was
not required. (This is above the actual
inspection fee where you get a sticker for your
   windshield).
2. Many of your purchasers are dealers and have
Resale Tax Certificates. These persons should
not pay any tax, to any state, until they sell
   the vehicle / property.

Other problem areas to shine a light on are:

3. Access for viewing and pick up. This was a
two way problem. In one case you could not
get on the base. This is/was a 9-11 problem
and hopefully will get better. Base commanders
would be the necessary source to fix problematic
locations. In other cases the buyers were allowed
access on the bases, only to find there were no
G.L. representatives, or their waiting was exorbinate.
This could have been a unique start-up problem, as
   yours is a new business.
4. The assistance in loading of property/vehicles is
a real important issue. Right now I can only
consider bidding for property that is local to me.
If that is a trend, you will have narrowed your
entire customer base. Persons will only bid close to
their locations. If nothing else, you might set up
contracts with lifting companies, and list their
contact information for each base. I would pay a
reasonable fee for loading. Then again each of
   these cost add up.

I have corresponded with some exceptionally nice and
very knowledgeable persons on this list. Please do not
allow the one or two jerks to offend you away with
bad language or content. Bar-B-Que them if you can.

If you find that I may be of assistance, you are
welcome to call.

Thanks again,
Earl Beverly
