A word of caution: just because you can own it here, now, doesn't
neccessesarily mean once out of the country it can come back in.
A antique model of the Colt Revolver (189?) was taken overseas by a fellow
serviceman. When he finished his tour and came back, his Colt was
confiscated. Seems that model failed a recent BATF "safety" rule about the
way a hammer can still strike a round if dropped from waist height. I run
into that myself over trying to save a British friend's Grandfather's WWI
Webly service revolver.
So, the point is that one law may let the Sherman out, a different law may
not let it back in again.
Make sure your paperwork is iron-clad! Then get a "loss" insurance policy if
you can't get it back. See LLoyds.

Cheers!
