All on the list,

I would like to know how you feel about the DoD possibly changing the
following FSC codes to Demil "E".

FSC Code Description
8405 Men's Outerwear
8410 Women's Outerwear
8415 Special Purpose Clothing
8420 Men's Underwear and Nightwear
8425 Women's Underwear and Nightwear
8465 Individual Equipment
8470 Personal Armor
8475 Specialized Flight Clothing & Accessories

Do you care? These FSC Codes have been pulled from this weeks Sealed Bid
Sale SB690, and may be pulled from all future clothing sales.

before they closed the the Army Depot in Memphis there was not consistancy
in "demil" of clothing; I saw class "A" green winter uniforms demilled by
cutting the buttos off them - of course the cutting of buttons was done in
such a manner as to leave big holes in the uniforms - then they sold the
buttons in a different lot. Other times they were sold by the thousands
still packed in shipping crates. Of course all of us have seen such
examples - saw what they said was 3500 pounds of brass band instruments
that
had been "demilled" in other words turned from band instruments into
crushed
brass.
