Is your comparison valid? The brake system on a deuce is not really sealed.
It has a vent, open to atmosphere. I would assume that both moisture and
oxygen enter the system at that point.

do you really believe that the military or any other govt sector does
anything based on the facts? maybe the facts that they collected to an
end.......brakes on anything, especially big heavy trucks can get very hot.
and silicon brake fluid contends with heat better. but i don't haul much
load in mine and live in a relatively flat area so i use dot3. the question
that comes to mind is that in water filled heating systems (that are sealed)
there is no corrosion after the initial burning up of available oxygen.
would that also apply to moisture trapped and isolated in a silicon system?
