I have found that sometimes the local Nat'l Guard facility can be helpful
also.

I'm a big fan of the FAVs, and I wouldn't be surprised if my next MV
turned out to be an FAV. I was completely unaware that there was ever
an issued 2-seater without the gun seat and cage. I have seen the
prototype that the guy is forever trying to sell in MV Magazine, but
that isn't a Chenowth issue FAV as far as I know.

Chenowth's own web site shows the issue FAV:

but I have emailed to them several times for more information and they
have never replied. They would be the ones to ask since they are the
source.

Here are a few good detail pictures of the real 3-place issue FAV that
I have collected:

Curtis, does your future FAV have the "CHENOWTH" stencil cut out of
the steel plate on the front bumper? I'd love to know if your
2-seater is a real issue FAV. I have seen a TON of regular Chenowth
civilian sand rails that people modified to look like FAVs, but they
aren't real ones even through they have the stencil. Lots of the
movie production houses have done this.

Also, on the FAV topic, does anyone on this list know the engine and
transmission that were used on the issue FAV? I have never seen the
back end of an FAV. I can't imagine that they would use a VW engine,
although that's what most sand rails use. The FAV does use a VW front
suspension beam and arms, so maybe they DO use the VW engine. I read
somewhere that it was available with a diesel engine, but I never
found confirmation of that. I'd love to see the TM for the FAV if one
exists!

Good luck, Curtis!
