The 5-ton trucks use a different axle gear ratio (final drive) than the 2-1/2
tonners do. It is 6.443:1 compared to the deuce's 6.72:1 . I may be wrong,
but I don't think you can use them interchangeably.
Without the correct adapter the speedometer and the odometer will be off by
about 10%.
