Ok, I'm looking at an M54 as my transporter for the Ferret and Dingo.
This is what the vehicle is...

>I'll have to look up the particular model. 14' bed. It has the 673
>Mack (237hp) turbo diesel, very common. 5 speed (Mack or Rockwell,
>have to crawl under and check...) It's registered max GVW is 54k.
>Bit higher than you probably need.
>Let's see. I threw in newer batteries, need to charge them and fire
>it up. Then I'll go over it with a fine tooth comb, and run locally
>for abit. Shake it down. It has the arctic roof (hard top). Modern
>wipers (new air motor, updated spring arms with regular blades). 12
>volt converter (stepping down from 24v) for radios, etc. Bucket seat
>for driver and passenger (vs. horrid bench). 10 ton winch (PTO
>driven). Commercial tires. (11R24.5 radials). Fully insulated and
>upholstered interior (greatly cuts down the noise). I need to put a
>new exhaust pipe on it, no biggie. I put a bunch of 24v flood and
>spot lights on the front. Added DOT lights (Marking lights) pre fed.
>regs for cdl trucks. 30 ton swivel pintle hitch.

What should I look for that's wrong? Its a friend of a friend and
also the fella that transports my Re-enacting unit's vehicles around,
so he's not a stranger. He's asking $5K.

Thoughts?
