this reply is to RAM and perhaps others......after the compensator is
by-passed, you must/should check and may need to reset (as in lower) the
main fuel rate. i don't know if the compensator is left in place during
a rebuild?? there should be discussion of this in some manual....... i
assume that during a major rebuild that the pump is also checked and
readjusted, so this would be taken care of. there could also easily be a
plate with the adjustment on it, to replace the compensator. i have
never seen one. either way the pump is directly fed, the line going to
the compensator is just to give it fuel pressure, and the small line is
return to tank. the bottom line still is 1200f exhaust temp max on a hot
day.
