was covered in national geograpic magazine,about 5 years ago.it was a
flight of one bomber and the p38 escorts.they landed on the ice at the
end of ww2 and the planes were left out on the ice sheet.whaen they were
found in the 90's they were down quite a few feet,i don't remember how
far.they had to tunnel down and dissasemble the planes to get them up.i
haven't heard any more news as to wehat was done with the planes.any
takers with more info?mike power
