Military waste

Sounds like the Great Gas Can scandal. When our favorite uncle went to the
plastic fuel cans, lot's of units had Metal fuel can's that were new, never
used, some still on pallets, instead of turning them in to upper
authority's or just giving them to any of the troops that wanted them, they
were ran over by a tracked vehicle and thrown away.
Or M60 tanks being dumped into the ocean to make reef's! I had a friend of
mine who's son was a tanker and watched train loads of brand new M-60a3
tanks(even still had the tits on the rubber on the road wheels) heading to a
watery grave, as the M-1 Abrams he was assigned to was dead lined, as well
as over half his units tanks, due to lack of parts! Now this is waste. Hell
even the British, (who can't own a gun) sell of their Surplus tanks to their
citizens!
The problem I see if too much of a stink is raised about good things thrown
away, is they will start to mutilate or destroy it before it goes on to the
scrap heap,
and no one will benefit from it. It might not be a bad idea to start to buy
the scrap, cull out the good stuff and sell off the real scrap to the scrap
buyers. Think what you might get for that Tranny? or the hand tools? A
person could get rich just from the surplus stuff thrown away at a large
military base!
