no, if it doesn't whistle that has nothing to do with the door being
open.
there are two common turbos, one has a wide volute all the way around
the turbine housing and is quiet. the other has a volute that tapers
down as it goes around and does whistle. the sound probably has more to
do with the turbine blades, but the housing shape is the easiest way to
id them.
