Vinegar and rust

Hi all,
Some time ago, I found a note in an old issue of MV magazine about using
distilled vinegar as a rust remover. It's the vinegar you get at the
supermarket (5% acidity). Well, I tried it and it works very well.

The 1953 M37 has plenty of rusty parts and a good method to clean them up is
simply to soak them in vinegar for a day or two. I have had the "guts" of
the composite tail lights soaking for a few days and the vinegar really
cleans them up. It will even lift the paint. I have done the same with nuts
and bolts and it really works.

Just thought I'd mention it, you may find it useful as well.

We are currently getting sleet and cold rain up here in the Virginia's Blue
Ridge mountains at the moment. School is out and the kids are home.

Have a great day!

Bjorn
