Multi-fuel problems

Good afternoon all.
I have been trying to start a take out mulit-fuel in a M35 that I am trying
to get running for my father-in-law. The in tank pump has pumped fuel up to
the filters on the back of the motor and all the lines look like they have
fuel in them. I have fuel on the line that I think goes from the block
filters to the top of the injection pump at what I would call the
distributor, the point where the lines go up to the injectors. I don't know
a lot about diesels.

I have assumed the following:
The fuel goes through the frame filter and to the bottom of the injector
pump.
The fuel is then pumped by above pump up to the filters on the block.
The fuel is then moved to the side of the injector pump again and is
distributed to the individual injectors.

Like I said I have fuel on every line but none at the injectors. The motor
will pop off when I drop a touch of gasoline into the intake. This engine
was rebuilt at Toole in 87 and has a sticker on the oil filter housing that
says diesel fuel only.

Any help would be appreciated. If I can't figure it out I plan to get a
mechanic I know to take a look at it next week. If I have to work on the
pump that is definitely over my head.
