M35 axle/hub temperature

Here's an interesting datapoint.

After a long drive or at a rest stop, I always check the hub temps on
the deuce. Something to do while the turbo is cooling.

Front hubs - cold.
forward rear hubs- slightly warm.- 105 degrees?
aft rear hubs- slightly warmer, maybe 5 degrees more.

none are what I would even remotely call hot.

side to side- identical. oil levels -identical.

so... why is the last axle a few degrees warmer than the middle axle?
