That's how I understand it too. GL-5 is an 'EP' (Extreme Pressure) lube. The
additives in it can be corrosive to brass like the syncronizers in my M35
tranny.
I had heard GL-3 was not an EP lube, but I can't confirm this. I'd rather
stick with GL-1 to be safe.
The local auto shops, Walmart, and the tractor supply don't carry it here,
but I didn't try SAMS, BJs, etc. That's where I'll be in the AM.
