> I had the same problem with my M1009 - most of the bolts came out of the
> studs, but 1 one each side just spun. I tried shimmying it with a
> screwdriver to keep the stud from turning, but it didn't work. Finally, I
> gave up and use a handle held wheel grinder to grind the bolt head out,
then
> drilled into the bolt with a bit that was just slightly larger than the
> bolt, which basically drilled out the mounting stud.
>
> The good news is that if you have a regulation antenna bracket install
kit,
> you should have the bolts that allow you to remove the studs and not worry
> about it. The kit should have a set of longer bolts and a mounting plate
> that will go all the way through the out and inner wall (you have to drill
> the holes for the inner wall, the outer wall is breached by the holes left
> behind by the drilled out studs).
>
> My M1009 had been damaged on the right door and a small dent was left
behind
> where the antenna mounted. I replaced the door, and put antenna mounts
on,
> using the drill through/long bolt method that caused the antenna bracket
to
> push the dent out (I killed two birds with one stone)..
