my .02 on vapor lock
not restricted to "old" vehicles
military or otherwise
I have a pickup truck with "throttle body" instead of crab. It will vapor
lock under the exact conditions, temp over 70, drive until engine is normal
hot operating temp, stop shut engine off for over 5 minutes but less that 20
and when you start it, it will start and die several times (dozens) before
it will keep running. Fuel pump pressure is in normal range. Mechanic nor
I can find where line is getting hot and causing fuel to boil and form
vapor.
