I've seen similiar trucks around, on construction sites. I seem to remember
that those hoods and front clips were being sold by someone that was in the
business of modifying these trucks. I'll be there's an industry specific
magazine that would have an ad dealing with them.

A few months ago I was told by someone that I bought some m35 manuals from
that one of the local water truck companies had done some work on modifying
their trucks for more reliability, and had also developed a brake
modification system. I still haven't had time to go track them down, but
when I do find something out about it I'll post it to the list.

It's hard to see, but it looks like those might be 5 ton axles - I can
almost count the lug nuts on them...almost. That might explaing the full air
brakes.
