So, what happens when you mix say, 30% to 50% veggie oil into your diesel
tank? ......filtered of course....

I just found out some interesting information on converting to Bio diesel
(or not really bio diesel). One way I was reading about is to take veggie
oil, put it in its own tank, run the engine enough to get the coolant warm
(on diesel), then run the coolant through a series of coils in the veggie
oil tank, and around the veggie oil filter. This warms the veggie oil so
that it is thin enough to run though the engine. On shutdown, you switch
back to diesel to get all of the veggie oil out of the lines, so next time
you cold start it will not be all clogged up. It sounds like this aviods all
of the chemicals in bio diesel that ruin rubber parts, etc. You can read
about it for yourself in Home Power (A renewable energy mag.) Issue #95
(June-July 2003). It has a lot of good info on the subject.
Thought some of you might be interested, this has come up a few times here.
