A friend of mine had a similar experience. The ISP went bankrupt. One
day, it was just 'gone'. Everyone had paid up for a year, and got
shafted out of 6 month's service. To make it worse, this place
guaranteed you a T-1 rate and server space for your own server, and so
the $1000/month for the T-1 was lost, and everyone had to 'prove'
which machines were theirs.

This is why I run an old DEC Alpha from home with a DSL line from
Southwestern Bell. They are not going out of business, and my data is
here, and I can back it up over the lan via FTP to an PC for the
purpose. The extra work of admin'ing a realcomputer and the expense of
DSL is worth it.

I didn't find any info on ARIN for your ISP. That bothers me. It's a
bad sign. I hope they can at least send you a backup tape. If you're
paying, backups should be their responsibility.
