A FCC technician ticket gives you privledges from 50MHZ up. (in bands) see
http://wireless.fcc.gov/services/amateur/
The PRC-77 works in the 50-54 MHZ (6 meter band)

The AN/PRC-77 is a light weight manpack, two-watt solid-state communications
system, providing two-way radiotelephone voice communication in the VHF
range from 30.00 to 75.95
( 50 to 54 mhz is where you could use it )
http://www.napcointer.com/prc-77.html

May I suggest that you use 51.6 mhz as it stays away from remote control
freq in that band and is way below the TV channnel 2.
Be advised the PRC 77 is wide band FM so it is wider than many are used to
and COULD, if used improperly tuned , transmit OUTDISE THE ALLOCATIONS.
THIS is not a good idea, you could lose said licence and occur verry big
fines (on the orger of 10 to 100 thousand dollars) relax just use it
properly
BUT be carefull with that dial.
But we have found radio use to assist us in safer Convoys in our club.

For the complete question pool go here

(yes you can see all the questions and answeres before you take the test,
only the ord of A,B,C,D and be altered. , THEY JUST ASK YOU LEARN)

If you want help getting your licence just email me, Good luck ! IT NOT
THAT HARD !
