DOT 3 and DOT 4 are both hydroscopic.
A friend of mine borrowed a vehicle, after about 15 miles at aroundabout he
went for the brakes THERE WERE`T ANY ! one front brake caliper was draging
slightly and in 15 miles had got hot enough to boil the moisture in the
fluid. The steam bubble acted as a gas {compressible }NO BRAKES
Later that afternoon on inspection the brakes were fine, on cooling the
fluid reabsorbed the moisture , THE EVIDENCE OF BRAKE FAILURE WAS GONE.
This is why fluid should be changed every 3 years or so ! but nobody ever
does.
why are vehicles made with steel brake pipes ? why don`t they use silicone
fluid ? COST {what price a life }
