Maybe it's just me but wouldn't a DUKW make for a great fishing boat? Certainly the coolest thing on the pond. But does anybody actually use theirs on the water? How does that swimming truck handle?

My local fire department is interested in selling their
DUKW s/n 17992.
Location: Hannawa Falls, NY.........about 35 miles
south of Massena NY (on the St Lawrence River).
This should give you a GOOD idea as to where it is.
The officer in charge has asked me to spread the word.
I will be at WEARE, NH this coming weekend at their show.
I'll have a few notes with me. It is a swimmer.
I will try to shoot (CAMCORDER) some footage of it before I leave
for WEARE but I'm very short of time.
They are asking $15,000 but thats between the buyer and FD.
I am not a member, and there is NO commision in it for me.
I want a good home for it.
