Nah,

You have to bring tinted and un-tinted driving goggles, hearing
protection, and some sun screen.

That way you can take the roof off, roll down the windows, and fold
down the windshield so you can get some bugs in your teeth while
driving your new baby home.

Seriously though, when you buy trucks though DRMS, GSA, or even GL
you have to always remember that you are buying nothing more than a
scrap vehicle, period. If the sale picture has an engine, tranny,
transfer case, and so on; then you have to be prepared to pick up the
truck with smoking bolts where the engine is supposed to be.

When you go to fetch the stuff, ALWAYS bring some a tools box
(usually a cheap craftsman 300+ piece set will work), fuel, an 40+
gallon air compressor (and hose), genset (for the compressor), and a
full set of[ pre-charged batteries already built in to trays for the
size of vehicle your picking up. You will also need a case of DOT 5
brake fluid, several extra gallons of other fluids (gear, tranny,
crank case), and so on.

Bring 4 ea 25 ft 3/8 high test chains with slip hooks, and 8 or so 20
foot 5/16 tow chains (clevis style) with chain binders.

Also, bring along at least 500 feet of strong (green or black) rope
you can use to lash down things down, and lots, and lots of duct tape.

Always bring an automatic center punch, coat hangar, or ice pick so
you can clear out the drain holes in the bed of the truck and empty
out the 400 gallons of nasty water in the bed, along with something
to scrape out the sludge that built up over the last 3 years.

Your better off just hiring a flatbed company to scoop up your
treasure, have them tow it to you, where you can set about restoring
the thing until your wife makes you get rid of it after it's been
sitting in your flower bed for a year.

One other thing... do not assume that the cab, bed, engine, tranny,
and axles are actually bolted down... ALWAYS check yourself. People
have been known to get their treasure started, get it off the base,
and out onto a highway taking it back home only to find that their
bed, rear axle, etc is no longer attached to the truck, or that the
engine has just pulled a surprise "hello daddy" when it came out of
the engine compartment at 50 mph.

Personally, I flatbed everything out... even if the government claims
it is in A condition.
