When I bought my truck, I would have never considered an auction,
especially where I can't really check the thing out, and be there
where I know it's not going to be stripped before I get it.

When I was ready to buy, some of the the well known dealers wanted a
bit too much for me, so I looked around on Trucktrader.com, etc.. I
ended up with a good runner from an individual, for a bit less. If you
just -have- to spend less and are willing to take a small risk or
accept something with a few imperfections, this is a good way to go,
but you better ask alot of questions and be lucky enough to buy from
an honest person as I did, since you may not be able to see the
vehicle before making a long trip to pick it up.
