Join the Army, not if you ever had ridilin

For those of you on the list who's kids may want to get some real MV
experience (i.e. enlist) so they can then come home and continue the hobby,
and perhaps even help you out with your MV's (lame MV content I know but
it's something) , consider the following.

I just talked to a friend of mine who's daughter wants to enlist in the
army. They just came back from a long meeting with the recruiter. He told
me something that I never heard of and for those of you that have kids and
might ever consider the possibility that they might want to enlist, you
might want to know this.

If you have ever in your life been on ridilin you are permanently
disqualified from ever serving with the US armed forces. Apparently no
exceptions. Other drugs used to treat adhd will not disqualify you given a
certain period of time, in her case 12 months for whatever it was she was
taking, up to 6 months ago (meaning she's got to sit out 6 more months).

I wonder how many MD's will tell a parent this when prescribing this stuff?

later,

je
