I mentioned this too. Glow plugs fail open. We've got six humvees and a
dozen CUCVs at work, so I've seen more than enough smoked plugs to last a
lifetime. Heh. From what I remember reading, the glow plugs themselves and
glow plug related issues topped the US Army Automotive and Tank Command's
list of major vehicle maintenance problems for several years running.
