My Deuce stalling after idling / running for a while.

Hi guys, I recently spoke to a couple of very knowledgeable guys that belong to the list in regards to my M35A2 stalling out after running for 1/2 hr or so, mostly if it's thrown in neutral at the light, or idling in the driveway. They suggested to have the primary fuel filter replaced. I am about to order the complete set, but I wanted to make sure that I am going in the right direction.
A bit of history, I bought the truck at the end of the summer and it had diesel in it, (about 1/2 a tank). Supposedly it was treated. Also the truck had its filters replaced recently, before I bought it and it wasn't driven much by the previous owner. This is an LD-465-1C engine, by the way.
I since added about 20 gallons of diesel and treated it the whole tank.
The truck usually starts fine and idles ok. I know that the in tank pump works. I drained some fuel from the primary filter and looks ok.
Again the truck starts fine, and runs fine, but usually after 1/2 hr to 45 mins. mostly at idle, it will idle very rough and try to die. It fights it for a while and giving it gas keeps it alive for sometime, but as soon as the gas pedal is released it idles rough again and eventually dies. At that point it will NOT start again immediately, but after about 5 mins or so it will start. Then runs / idles again fine until maybe 1/2 hour later when it starts doing the same thing.
NOT a fun thing if you are in the middle of the road....
Any thoughts?
Thank you all.
Tony V.
