Is the tank vented ? blocked vent could caused
this .
THEORY # 2
After 1/2 hour the filter has sucked up enough rubbish to restrict flow ,
engine stops , no suction , rubbish falls away in 5 mins, restart engine OK
for another 1/2 hour , repeat ad nauseum .
