Hi Larry
Is this a Luverne brush guard ? They mount differently if it is
designed for the winch or non winch humvee. If it is the non winch
Luverne guard going on a non winch humvee then the guard attaches to the
inner holes and the towing shackles mount to the outer holes.

Subject: [MV] HMMWV Front

I'm in distress!! My new brush guard used the two holes that the towing
brackets occupied. There are two holes (two for each towing bracket = 4
holes) more inboard for additional somethings. On mil veh pix I have of
the HMMWV, the towing brackets are combined with the brush guard mounts.
My brush guard is not combinable with the towing brackets it replaces.

Is it "permissible" to move the towing brackets to the more inboard
holes? They would then be about 6 inches more toward the center line of
the vehicle. They match the towing bracket mounts. Or, was something
else designed for those holes? Going through the TM's, I can't find
anything attached to the "spare" 4 holes.

Considering the recent discussions regarding modification of Mil Veh's
to non-mil conditions, I'm hoping for some guidance from the Bishop
level or higher :>)

TIA folks,
