RE:I-70 crash

If your towing a large vehicle of any HMV size do it right to try to
prevent what happened on I-70 recently. You should be able to kit bash a
light bar and hang it from the rear of the towed vehicle, just remember to
make the pigtail around thirty feet long so you have plenty of cable to
plug into the pigtail receptacle on the towing Deuce or 5 ton. HINT USE
MULTIPLE ( at least 8 lights BRIGHT ONES ) All military turn signals have
flashers...after you get on the road and are not gonna be making a turn in
the next mile turn your four ways on with all the lights on the tow bar you
made and hung it will attract more attention. It will also light up your
front turn signals which will warn the yutzy 4 wheelers something is a
little different with this truck coming at me. At least it may make em look
twice.

Next time you see a 18 go by on a hook look at the light bar at
the rear they are usually made out of POLISHED STAINLESS STEEL to attract
attention. Can't hurt.

To paraphrase a tire company Keep the rubber on the road (unless
you just can't resist that dirt trail :-)

Last but not least if you have to tow on the interstate and don't
feel comfortable at 55 MPH keep all the previously mentioned lights on and
stay in the breakdown lane at say 35 MPH. Less chance of being hit from
behind but keep a sharp eye out for parked (dead ) vehicles in front of you.
