That's strange. It's almost as though your whole system voltage is low.
Failing that, if all your lights are flashing dimly but flashing
appropriately (i.e., left flashes with left lever flick; right flashes with
right lever flick) then I personally wouldn't think it was the handle - more
likely the flasher box itself. There are a few different styles and though
I can't remember which was which, I know some of them really hate having a
bad ground. You might check that. What was your voltmeter reading
throughout all this, or do you remember looking?

It's always handy to have a spare flasher box, flasher handle and
three-lever light switch for troubleshooting and general spares. I've had
lots of each go bad. In fact, I just had a HMMWV with both the flasher
handle *and* the three-lever light switch bad, and it supposedly had come
straight from storage. Go figure.
