Well gentlemen, and ladies, please let this old southern boy make his .02
contribution to the comments about YANKS, YANKEES,. etc.

I have no animosity toward folks from the cold northern part of our great
country, except for the few who think that just because I talk slow my mind
is slow - for I know that just because they talk fast their mind is not
necessarily fast...

I was born in the south, raised in the south, U S Government put a uniform
on me and exiled me to north for a short time, but they released me and I
found my way home; and I when I die I well be southern dead.

I am in no way be offended by being called "Reb" - "Rebel" -"Graybelly" or
other terms used to describe followers -or want to be - followers of Gen.
Lee and President Davis.

I love my Confederate flag - and the Confederate flag is not the "battle
flag" most often negatively associated with the South.

Personally I refer to the conflict as "The War of Northern Aggression" and
the invaders from the north as "them Da** Bluebellies."

And as for "Carpetbaggers" -We still suffer from them.

Yankees in my mind are a baseball team.

I am always at a loss as proper term to use for persons from UK.... of
course I am often at a loss....

And by the way I have no idea what a "Pom" is, have I missed
something???????
