Subject: [MV] Interesting CUCV twist

It seems that the 4x4 community are scrapping the M1008 trucks and such as
quick as they can get them for the Dana 60 front axles and the 14 Bolt FF
rears.
An interesting version of M1008 showed up on Ebay a few months ago. It was
an M1008 with the smaller (highway geared) M1009 axles in it. If somebody
wanted to use the M1008 as a runaround without hauling tons of stuff in it,
this
could be a cool way to improve that mileage over the stock 4.56 gearing. As
most know the axles are a bolt in"""""

This is not a flame Kenny, just FYI for any are thinking about this. The
spring pad spacing is different on the M1008 14BFF vs the 10B axles on the
M1009. So, you will have to cut the pads off and move them. 1-ton 14BFF
have a 40.5" spacing and the 3/4 ton 14BFF have 42.5" spacing just like the
M1009 10B. The best thing about the M1008 axle swap aside from the beefy
axles is that they already come loaded with 4.56 gears which are great for
big meats and a rear Detroit Locker. If any of you M1008 guys want to bolt
up a set of 10-bolts, I will gladly swap you mine and some cash for yours.
