truck cargo cover

I watched the great videos that Fred posted and in the one about convoy I
saw a truck (I am ignorant about what the pickups are called), this was a
military pickup that had expanded metal cargo cover. Is this cover issue or
was the great cover fabricated by someone. I was much impressed, by the
security it offered.
