White vs. subdued markings

I am getting ready to re-paint my markings on my M715, and was leaning towards painting subdued markings. However I'm not sure if an M715 would have been around long enough to have subdued markings. Did the ones in Vietnam drive around with white stars and the like? FYI my M715 was part of the 2nd Armor Division and the 502nd S, whatever the S stands for.
