No idea.

I just recall that the electricians I trained with seemed to think that
CRC was a wonder substance for all things electrical. It soon proved
otherwise. Once it was understood that the residue was what was causing
all the tracking and shorting issues, we soon saw "Blue" (Electrical
non-residual) CRC appear in the shops.

It pays to remember that "Red" CRC is a combined
Penetrator/Solvent/Lubricant.
It barely lubricates and should not be used solely as a lubricant as
it is too volatile and after a number of days will disappear, not
however before it has attracted any dust that is around.

It is really intended as a penetration and disassembly aid rather
than anything else, its water repellant properties are more appropriate
for breakdowns and emergency, ie. immediate/short term event.

The lock industry hates it/loves it too as people use it in locks,
which then attracts dust which gums up the lock. So they charge
to pull the lock apart and clean it and lubricate with powdered
graphite.

Just in case anybody gets any funny ideas, graphite is CONDUCTIVE!

Regards
Doug
