The CO2 is a fine idea, but only if you're not paying for the extinguisher.
Have you seen how much they cost lately?

My Dear Child:

Let me take each of your points in order, and address them logically and
diplomatically:

1. PlbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbH!

2. PlbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbH!

Now then,

You don't need Oxyacetlyne, just use a big magnifying glass.

Spray a fine mist of 87-octane on the drum, light match, take cover.

A CO-2 fire extinguisher provides enough cooling for a six-pack, why not try
one on the brake drum?

Put the truck in the swimming pool, and wait for February.

Drive to Baffin Island.

Adapt, Improvise, Overcome.

(I stand by my remark about cooling, actually. It may not convert the FeO2
back to iron ore, but it will help mechanically release the bonding, both on
steel and other metals.)
