Is there a correlation between engine temperature and failure interval?

Perhaps your ignition coil is defective. Many times they will open at high
temperatures.

Have you checked the basics, when it WON'T start? Fuel. Air. Spark.

Crank the engine while checking for good healthy spark at the engine ends of
the plug wires.
