Hi Dave,

Yes, I know the Haflingers had a long life, but what I meant by "catch
on" is that the type of vehicle (i.e. a small 4x4 transporter) can't be
found in all but a few armed forces. The Haffy was sorta a cross between
a Jeep and a MULE, which seems like a good concept to me. Yet for
whatever reason it would appear that few of the world's militaries
thought this way.

Interestingly enough, the US military appears to have felt the need for a
Haffy/MULE type vehicle during the first stages of the war in
Afghanistan. The GATOR was sent over to fill the need, but from the
little I heard about it the grunts were not impressed with the golfcart
on steroids concept (anybody got any info on this?). Makes me wonder if
we might see something like the Haffy or MULE in the near future.

Steve
