Another example of a fraud letter (Australian)

Here is another example of a scam letter off eBay.
The sad part is eBay does virtually nothing to filter
these con-artists out of their system. They rely on
the potential victims to report the frauds.

I found 4 more frauds since yesterday and if one
person can find that many in 20 minutes, one wonders
how many frauds could there be?

Seems like eBay ought to care about its reputation.
Things I reported 2 days ago are still up there. (the
last 4 have Australian origins)

"Hello there,

Thank you for your interest in purchasing my atv. I
know that are numerous offers on eBay and I'm glad
that you choose to contact me regarding your
willingness to purchase.
First of all I must inform you that currently I'm in
Piraeus, Greece and I
have to let you know that the atv is here with me. I
am the first owner of
the atv.
You will receive your atv in 4-5 working days by FedEx
at your home
address. It is insured in case of damage and it take
4-5 days to be delivered
at your DOOR.I will send you the atv with all the
papers
(warranty,insurance etc ...) .
No damages, no scratches or dents, no hidden defects,
the engine doesn't smoke, runs and sounds awesome, the
engine has never been repaired or something like that,
never been into accidents and it is as advertised. The
atv is an AU model with AU specs, comes with all the
documents you need to register it (manual still
sealed, clear title in my hand, bill of sale signed by
me) still under warranty.

I recently moved here and was going to register it
here but changed my mind because of financial reasons
and I decided to sell it. I didn't paid for Greece
import taxes and if I keep the atv like that I was
going to lose it and its better to ship it where it
belongs, that means US. Time is really an issue and we
have to move fast.
The shipping costs and the insurance taxes of the
package will be down to me .The unit is being shipped
from Greece and you won't have to pay for customs or
any additional taxes when it arrives in your country.
This can be avoided very easily because i will send
the unit for you as a gift/donation for my best friend
and there will not be any customs or import taxes
involved.
The price is good cause if I pay taxes here and sell
it here would get the same price if I sell it in AU
from here, plus i will have to transfer the title from
a AU title to a Greece title and it is easier for me
to sell it in AU. You will not have to pay additional
taxes cause the atv is already registered in AU, just
only the price for it.

In normal circumstances Paypal is my favorite way of
receiving the payment but unfortunately for the moment
i have some troubles with my paypal account and i am
forced not to accept this method at this time.Anyway
i hope this is not a problem because i am a Square
Trade member and all the payment process will be done
through them.If you agree with moving forward with the
deal through square trade please email me as soon as
possible YOUR FULL NAME AND ADDRESS.As soon as i
receive these informations from you i will forward
them to Square Trade along with the rest of the
details in order for them to open a case regarding
our deal. After you receive the notification from
Square Trade please give me an email and confirm me if
we have a deal in order for me to make the arragements
for the shipping process.

regards and hear you asap

Waiting for your email,

Mike Cocita"
