The criteria is probably the only thing in common between the LR 101, Volvo
303 and Pinz 710. ( the Volvo 304 and Pinz 712 are 6WD versions)

The 101 and the Volvo are both a conventional type drivetrain and ladder
frame, with the Volvo having portal live axles and diff locks.

Other than the Pinz and Volvo looking similar and having portal hubs, there
is nothing else in common. The Pinz has a central tube drivetrain with
independent swing axles and portal hubs ( similar to early VW buses, but
uniquely different), engine and trans is mounted over the front diff, with a
short driveshaft to the t case that transfer the power to the central tube.
A platform body is then mounted to the central tube drivetrain. The Pinz is
most closely related to the Haflinger. Haflingers were developed in the
'50s, and development of the Pinz started in '65. The Pinz also has a air
cooled engine.

Or a Landrover 101FC. They' all have the same set
of design chriteria. ie: Short wheelbase, heavy
towing/hauling capacity, good off road capability.
