Maybe if you are a long time regular member supporting and helping people on
a some what monthly - weekly basis, and you just happen to be helping out
some one you know personally then maybe people wouldn't mind it.

I second that. Military/vehicle-related non-MV-specific off-topics are OK
sometimes, IMHO. Health issues, children, etc are completely orthogonal and
don't belong here.
