Hey Mike, go to steelsoldiers.com/dotnetforum and look under "alternate
fuels", I have been posting my experiences there.
A small deli near here is paying $200/year for a service to have the waste
cooking oil picked up! I spoke to the owner and she agreed to give me all
she has since it would save her a few bucks. It's about 800 gallons a year
from that restaurant alone!
I also went to the recycling center and found out that many small businesses
just dump the oil. Got the names of a few from them.

Currently, I'm dissolving lye into methanol as I'm writing this. I have
about 20 gallons of biodiesel made up, which still need to be "washed". The
trip to Aberdeen will be test run on this fuel for the old deuce.
I will also try mixing straight cooking oil with diesel, which I purchased
for about $3.00/gallon (restaurant "frying oil"), although the used stuff
filtered through a 5 micron filter may also be used for this purpose.
The methanol cost me $2.50/gallon and is from a go-cart racer, who uses it
for fuel.
With free oil, the cost per gallon of biodiesel will be about $0.65/gallon.

Gotta go, the lye has dissolved.

Bjorn
