Well this is hardly a fix for you ! but a opportune time to mention !
But when a "friend" was assisting in changing the belts on the passenger
side alternator.
He ARK welded / CUT the fuel line in half and started a FIRE for me ;-(

Well, I started off my day at the parts store. Picked up a new starter
relay (AR135). Turns out you need to change the wiring of the base of the
relay to get the new relay to work. Well, while changing the belts on the
alternator I managed to short out the 12v control line on the passenger side
and smoked the 12v line going from the bat to the jumper block. So tonight
when I tried to check the voltages to figure out why the relay wouldn't work
in the truck, the fusible link that runs to the cab let out a bunch of smoke
and no longer passes voltage. Any ideas from the crowd on why this
happened? Could I have half killed the fusible link when I shorted out the
alternator and it just died tonight with the load of trying to check voltage
at the relay base, or do I have a short somewhere in the cab? I know I need
to go through the truck with a meter and check for shorts, but I was hoping
someone might have a place to point me. Anyone know what size the fusible
link was supposed to be? Can I just clip it and install a regular fuse
base?

Chris
