RE: [MV] 12v CUCV

My 1008 has rot by the front leg of the battery tray. Took it out to try
and fix rot and found out for myself that the 12v starter was hard to turn
over with only one battery. How do civy diesel trucks get started with only
one battery?

I rewired mine to 12v also. My 2 batteries are wired directly to buss on
firewall as well as the one, top altenator. I said top altenator because I
have an M1010 and removed bottom altenator. I also hade a local shop rewire
my 180 24V alt to 12v. I installed a 12v starter from autozone that was for
civillian 6.2 L. It requires both batteries to turn over engine. This may
not be best solution, but worked for me for the past 5 years.

P.S. my M1010 is a daily driver. Its my only vehicle.
